Crafty Old Man

Yes I know I am a couple of days late with the New Year wishes I hope all had a good time!

I’ve had a couple of days off work after New Year and started on a couple of new projects already! Go me! let’s hope I can keep the momentum up!!!

I am trying my hand at a C2C (corner to corner) blanket and thought I would go colourful and use Caron Cakes Rainbow Sprinkles, I think it’s going ok so far not 100% sure if tension is right as some gaps in the squares but I’m liking the way it works up so far. Anyway I will let you decide what you think?….

I have also made a couple of baskets with the chunky yarns I bought as a trial, I quite like the smaller grey one as it stands up on its own better but on the other hand you can store more in the rusty coloured one? I guess the next ones I try will depend what to be used for and if larger then will need to look at making then stiffer.

The other project I’ve started is for the other half, he saw some yarn he liked the colour of whilst being dragged around craft shops (bless him) anyway I am attempting a scarf but not crochet this time! This is the first practical item ever to be knitted by these fair hands lets just hope that the practice squares etc I did before were enough practice for it to look half decent at the end?

Right well I had best crack on with one of the above whilst the stew is slowly bubbling away on the hob and which I have to say is smelling particularly good 🤓
