Crafty Old Man

That has to have been the longest month ever! At least been paid and life can resume back to normal 🤓

Well I have to say the Cricut Maker is one hell of a machine there is so much you can do and only just scratched the surface so far.

The design studio software is fairly easy to use but I have only done very basic things so far. There are lots of videos on YouTube which will help if you get stuck with anything. So of course I had to label the Maker 🤓

Above is the start of designing the label. And of course once it’s designed comes the fun part of weeding out the pieces 🤪😆

The final label in place and have to say I am very pleased with the results 🥰

I also had a go at doing a little nod to Harry Potter on a gin glass which looks fine but have to say I won’t be using the Hobby Craft brand of vinyl again as just came straight off when tried to hand wash it in lukewarm water🤦‍♂️ I’m going to stick to the Cricut vinyl from now that’s for sure! If anyone knows of any other good vinyl brands then do let me know 😉

Of course I have been stitching and completed another kit by Stitchsperation this time it’s the Mr & Mr kit on Aida. Added the date of our wedding at the bottom and just need to find a good frame for it now😉✂️🧵🥰

Also made the cover kit from issue 353 of Cross Stitcher, needed another need,e case for all the needles from kits so perfect timing to get one as a cover gift! Slight deviation from the instructions in that I didn’t add the ribbon tie to the opening.

In other crafting news I tried a bit of up cycling for the new house in a sideboard we managed to source second hand.

So after a base coat and some distressing with a silver it finally sits in our lounge 😍

New purchases have not been as lavish this month after the Maker 😝 I received the first book from a friend for Christmas – Subversive Cross Stitch by Julie Jackson, this is the anniversary edition so includes 17 extra from the first publication…

The other book was a purchase due to the above gift and also watching some Mr X Stitch YouTube videos…

Once I have decided which one to do first will let you all know lol 🤪

Crochet wise I have finished the main section of my corner 2 corner blanket for our bedroom. The bedroom will be decorated in a rich dark blue (can’t remember exact name at moment) and the chimney breast will be a bright yellow. Hence the blue main body of the blanket I am unsure if I should add a yellow border or not 🤔 time will tell I guess lol anyway here is the blue done in So Crafty Chunky Yarn 🧶 colour Midnight.
